What happens when you convert AVIF to JPG
AVIF uses AV1 video compression for still images, usually producing the smallest file of any format here at a given quality. Support is good in modern browsers but thin in older desktop software. JPG is the universal photo format: lossy compression, no transparency, and support in essentially every piece of software ever written.

- JPG has no alpha channel, so transparent areas are flattened onto a white background instead of turning black.
