What happens when you convert PNG to AVIF
PNG is a lossless format with full alpha transparency — ideal for screenshots, logos, and artwork with sharp edges, at the cost of larger files for photos. AVIF uses AV1 video compression for still images, usually producing the smallest file of any format here at a given quality. Support is good in modern browsers but thin in older desktop software.
